The opening of the show my digital imaging teacher was lecturing for was in someone’s house. Her lecture was some sort of small party, not a usual gallery party, more Midwestern, almost suburban. I met a girl there who was kind of dumb, but very sexual. We talked for a while, but all I could think about was having sex with her. We were laughing a lot and everyone was milling about, waiting for the lecture to start. The work on the walls was very large scale black and white work, hung high on the walls in very ornate frames. My teacher skirted by, saying, "My work won’t be as offensive, now that Chuck has already shown." Everyone laughs. Then Chuck comes in. He is small, dirty and Slavic. His work looks like a comic I have seen before. My teacher tells everyone that she is going to start and we are behind her. She is speaking from a pedestal in the room in front of us, but the girl I’m with says she needs to pee again. I say, "Well, let’s go pee then!" and I grab her by the shoulders and we walk to the bathroom together. When we get to the bathroom, she is in the bathtub in her underwear, chewing gum. I am trying to get in the tub with her or to get her to invite me into the tub. I can feel myself getting harder and harder, but I’m not able to get into the tub. I wasn’t physically trying, but I don’t think she wanted me. Or maybe she did and I just didn’t see the sex happening.
