Veronica Ceci

Veronica Ceci was born in Wisconsin's Kettle Moraine and established her art career in the spirit of contemporary collaboration blossoming in Milwaukee.  Upon graduating in 1999 from The Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design with a BFA in Printmaking, Ceci went on to be an organizational force in such contemporary exhibition spaces as The Rust Spot and Tenant.  In the summer of 2001 Ceci, in collaboration with other artists, was commissioned to compose a series of promotional art events for Visual Arts Milwaukee.

In order to study at the world-renowned Tamarind Institute of Lithography, Ceci relocated to New Mexico in 2001, where the land of enchantment has lived up to its name.  This move to the southwest's bold landscape inspired an affection for realism in Ceci, signifying a new phase in her print work, while still addressing themes of media, paranoia and social control systems.  Ceci finished the program at Tamarind in the spring of 2002, and was engaged to instruct workshops in non-toxic printing techniques at TVI Community College.

In addition to her work teaching, Ceci is also an active member artist of Gallery 218 in Milwaukee, and is in the process of organizing a cultural exchange between the gallery and one in her new hometown. Other current projects include a video collaboration entitled Still.Alone, spearheaded by Italian multi-media artist Luca Curci and involving 15 different artists from around the world.  Ceci continues to expand upon and perfect her groundbreaking work in ESDOMLITYTTPDFYP. A site-specific installation series based upon catalogued events in the artist's life
